Pastor
David Whitney was awarded the first annual Reverend
John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg Award.
The IOTC has instituted this annual award to recognize
members
of the clergy who exemplify the life of Rev. Muhlenberg.
Rev. Muhlenberg was not only pastor to 2 churches,
he was one of the highest ranking officers of the
American Revolution, a Congressman, and a state
legislator. He reminded all he touched that if
they failed to get involved and protect their liberties,
there would be no liberties left to protect.
True
to form, after receiving the award, Pastor Whitney
announced that he would be running for the House
of Delegates in his district against incumbent
Speaker Michael Busch. Congratulations, Pastor
Whitney!
